Т огава Давид си каза: Най-накрая ще загина един ден от Сауловата ръка. Няма нищо по-добро за мен от това да избягам по-бързо във филистимската земя. Тогава Саул ще се отчае и няма вече да ме търси по всичките предели на Израел; така ще се отърва от ръката му.

¶ And David said in his heart, In the end I shall be killed some day by the hand of Saul; there is nothing better for me than that I should escape once and for all into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more within the borders of Israel; so shall I escape out of his hand.
