W hy have we fasted, they say, and You do not see it? Why have we afflicted ourselves, and You take no knowledge ? Behold, on the day of your fast, you find profit in your business, and you extort from your hired servants a full amount of labor.

¿Por qué, dicen, ayunamos, y no hiciste caso; humillamos nuestras almas, y no te diste por enterado? He aquí que en el día de vuestro ayuno buscáis vuestro propio gusto, y explotáis a todos vuestros trabajadores.
