D avid lifted up his eyes and saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and the heavens, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.

Davi olhou para cima e viu o anjo do Senhor entre o céu e a terra, com uma espada na mão, erguida sobre Jerusalém. Então Davi e as autoridades de Israel, vestidos de luto, prostraram-se, rosto em terra.
