T hen he took his eldest son, who was to reign in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering on the wall. And there was great indignation, wrath, and bitterness against Israel; and they withdrew from and returned to their own land.

便 將 那 應 當 接 續 他 作 王 的 長 子 ， 在 城 上 獻 為 燔 祭 。 以 色 列 人 遭 遇 耶 和 華 的 大 怒 ( 或 作 招 人 痛 恨 ) ， 於 是 三 王 離 開 摩 押 王 ， 各 回 本 國 去 了 。
