A nd Midian is humbled before the sons of Israel, and have not added to lift up their head; and the land resteth forty years in the days of Gideon.

Così Madian fu umiliato davanti ai figli d'Israele e non alzò piú il capo; e il paese ebbe riposo per quarant'anni, durante la vita di Gedeone.
