S o Midian was subdued before the children of Israel, and they lifted up their heads no more. The land had rest forty years in the days of Gideon.

Così Madian fu umiliato davanti ai figli d'Israele e non alzò piú il capo; e il paese ebbe riposo per quarant'anni, durante la vita di Gedeone.
