A nd Joshua sendeth men from Jericho to Ai, which near Beth-Aven, on the east of Bethel, and speaketh unto them, saying, `Go up and spy the land;' and the men go up and spy Ai,

Sucedeu que Josué enviou homens de Jericó a Ai, que fica perto de Bete-Áven, a leste de Betel, e ordenou-lhes: “Subam e espionem a região”. Os homens subiram e espionaram Ai.
