A nd he a third time said unto them, `Why, what evil did he? no cause of death did I find in him; having chastised him, then, I will release.'

A third time he said to them, Why? What wrong has He done? I have found in Him nothing deserving of death; I will therefore chastise Him '> in order to teach Him better] and release Him.
