P er la terza volta egli disse loro: «Ma che male ha fatto? Io non ho trovato nulla in lui, che meriti la morte. Perciò, dopo averlo castigato, lo libererò».

A third time he said to them, Why? What wrong has He done? I have found in Him nothing deserving of death; I will therefore chastise Him '> in order to teach Him better] and release Him.
