2 Samuel 21:2 ~ II Sa-mu-ên 21:2

A nd the king calleth for the Gibeonites, and saith unto them -- as to the Gibeonites, they not of the sons of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorite, and the sons of Israel had sworn to them, and Saul seeketh to smite them in his zeal for the sons of Israel and Judah --

Vua bèn truyền gọi dân Ga-ba-ôn, và nói chuyện với họ. Người Ga-ba-ôn chẳng thuộc về dân sự Y-sơ-ra-ên, nhưng họ là kẻ sống sót của dân A-mô-rít; dân Y-sơ-ra-ên có thề hứa tha thứ họ. Dầu vậy, Sau-lơ vì lòng sốt sắng về dân Y-sơ-ra-ên và Giu-đa, đã tìm cách trừ diệt họ.
