T he king said to the guard who stood about him, “Turn, and kill the priests of Yahweh; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew that he fled, and didn’t disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king wouldn’t put out their hand to fall on the priests of Yahweh.

Allora il re ordinò alle guardie che lo attorniavano: «Volgetevi e uccidete i sacerdoti dell'Eterno, perché sono anch'essi dalla parte di Davide e perché sapevano che egli era fuggito, ma non mi hanno avvertito». Ma i servi del re non vollero stendere le mani per colpire i sacerdoti dell'Eterno.
