H e took a yoke of oxen, and cut them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the borders of Israel by the hand of messengers, saying, “Whoever doesn’t come out after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done to his oxen.” The dread of Yahweh fell on the people, and they came out as one man.

A luat o pereche de boi, i-a tăiat în bucăţi şi a trimis bucăţile, prin mesageri, în toate teritoriile lui Israel, spunând: „Aşa se va face cu boii oricui nu îl urmează pe Saul şi pe Samuel.“ Groaza Domnului a intrat în popor, astfel că ei au ieşit la luptă ca un singur om.
