B ut Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king’s dainties, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Daniel propuso en su corazón no contaminarse con la porción de la comida del rey ni con el vino que él bebía; pidió, por tanto, al jefe de los eunucos que no se le obligara a contaminarse.
