B ut Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s choice food or with the wine which he drank; so he sought permission from the commander of the officials that he might not defile himself.

Daniel propuso en su corazón no contaminarse con la porción de la comida del rey ni con el vino que él bebía; pidió, por tanto, al jefe de los eunucos que no se le obligara a contaminarse.
