T herefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; and I will make Jacob a curse, and Israel an insult.”

And so I will profane the chief ones of the sanctuary and will deliver Jacob to the curse (the ban, a solemn anathema or excommunication) and Israel to reproaches and reviling.
