M oses said, “It isn’t appropriate to do so; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to Yahweh our God. Behold, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and won’t they stone us?

(8: 22) Moïse répondit: Il n'est point convenable de faire ainsi; car nous offririons à l'Éternel, notre Dieu, des sacrifices qui sont en abomination aux Égyptiens. Et si nous offrons, sous leurs yeux, des sacrifices qui sont en abomination aux Égyptiens, ne nous lapideront-ils pas?
