T he children of Israel traveled from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, besides children.

وَرَحَلَ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ مِنْ مَدِينَةِ رَعَمْسِيسَ إلَى مَدِينَةِ سُكُّوتَ. كانَ هُناكَ نَحْوُ سِتِّ مِئَةِ ألفِ رَجُلٍ عَدا الأطفالِ.
