T he couriers went out in haste by the king’s commandment, and the decree was given out in the citadel of Susa. The king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city of Shushan was perplexed.

Por ordem do rei, os mensageiros saíram às pressas, e o decreto foi publicado na cidadela de Susã. O rei e Hamã assentaram-se para beber, mas a cidade de Susã estava em confusão.
