T he sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, because he defiled his father’s couch, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be listed according to the birthright.

以 色 列 的 長 子 原 是 流 便 ； 因 他 污 穢 了 父 親 的 床 ， 他 長 子 的 名 分 就 歸 了 約 瑟 。 只 是 按 家 譜 他 不 算 長 子 。
