V ua Y-sơ-ra-ên bèn đòi hết thảy trưởng lão trong xứ, mà nói rằng: hãy xem xét và biết rằng người này toan mưu làm hại chúng ta; vì người đã sai sứ đòi các cung phi, con cái, bạc, và vàng của ta; và ta không có từ chối gì hết.

Then the king of Israel called all the leaders of the land. He said to them, “Look and see how this man is looking for trouble. He sent to me for my wives and my children, my silver and my gold. And I did not say no to him.”
