A -hi-tô-phe thấy người ta không theo mưu của mình, bèn thắng lừa, trở về thành mình, và vào trong nhà người. Sau khi người đã sắp đặt việc mình rồi, thì tự thắt cổ mà chết. Người ta chôn người trong mộ của cha người.

When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey, arose, and went home, to his city, and set his house in order, and hanged himself; and he died, and was buried in the tomb of his father.
