D ân Ca-na-an, tức là dân xứ ấy, thấy khóc than nơi sân đạp lúa A-tát, thì nói rằng: Aáy là một đám khóc than trọng thể của dân Ê-díp-tô đó! Bởi cớ ấy người ta gọi cái sân nầy tên là A-bên-Mích-ra-im ở bên kia sông Giô-đanh.

When the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning at the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning for the Egyptians. Therefore the place was called Abel-mizraim; it is west of the Jordan.
