Т ам пленившие нас требовали от нас песен, притеснители наши требовали от нас веселья, говоря: «Спойте нам одну из песен Сиона».

Là ci chiedevano delle canzoni quelli che ci avevano deportati, dei canti di gioia quelli che ci opprimevano, dicendo: «Cantateci canzoni di Sion!»
