U n día, Najás el amonita se dirigió a Jabés de Galaad y la sitió, pero los habitantes de Jabés le propusieron a Najás que, si se aliaba con ellos, se comprometían a servirle.

¶ Then Nahash, the Ammonite, came up and encamped against Jabeshgilead. And all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.
