y desde el alba hasta el medio día lo leyó en la plaza que está frente a la Puerta de las Aguas. Todo el pueblo escuchaba con mucha atención la lectura del libro de la ley,

And he read in it before the open place that was before the water-gate from the morning until midday, in presence of the men and the women, and those that could understand. And the ears of all the people were to the book of the law.
