A cest om, pe care l-au prins Iudeii, era să fie omorît de ei; şi eu m'am dus repede cu ostaşi, şi l-am scos din mîna lor, căci am aflat că este Roman.

This man was seized by the Jews and was about to be killed by them. Coming with the troops I rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.
