F iii lui Ruben, întîiul născut al lui Israel. -Căci el era întîiul născut, dar, pentru că a spurcat patul tatălui său, dreptul lui de întîi născut a fost dat fiilor lui Iosif, fiul lui Israel; totuş Iosif n'a fost scris în spiţele de neam ca întîi născut.

The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, because he defiled his father’s couch, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be listed according to the birthright.
