D avid a zis solului:,, Iată ce să spui lui Ioab:, Nu te munci pentru întîmplarea aceasta, căci sabia doboară cînd pe unul, cînd pe altul; bate cetatea cu putere, dărîmă -o. Şi tu, îmbărbătează -l!``

Then David said to the man, “Tell Joab, ‘Do not let this thing trouble you. For the sword kills one as well as another. Make your battle against the city stronger and destroy it.’ Comfort him with these words.”
