O s filisteus reuniram-se para lutar contra Israel, com três mil carros de guerra, seis mil condutores de carros e tantos soldados quanto a areia da praia. Eles foram a Micmás, a leste de Bete-Áven e lá acamparam.

The Philistines gathered to fight against Israel, with 30, 000 war-wagons, 6, 000 horsemen, and people like the sand on the sea shore. They came and set up their tents at Michmash, east of Beth-aven.
