Q uando os homens de Ai olharam para trás e viram a fumaça da cidade subindo ao céu, não tinham para onde escapar, pois os israelitas que fugiam para o deserto se voltaram contra os seus perseguidores.

When the men of Ai looked back, they saw the smoke of the city going up to the sky. They had no place to run. Then the people of Israel who had been running away in the desert turned against those who went after them.
