E ntão o sacerdote de Betel, Amazias, enviou esta mensagem a Jeroboão, rei de Israel: “Amós está tramando uma conspiração contra ti no centro de Israel. A nação não suportará as suas palavras.

¶ Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is not able to bear all his words.
