Q uando chegou a vez de Ester, filha de Abiail, tio de Mardoqueu, que a tinha adotado como filha, ela não pediu nada além daquilo que Hegai, oficial responsável pelo harém, sugeriu. Ester causava boa impressão a todos os que a viam.
