D epois, quando o povo insistiu com Davi que comesse alguma coisa enquanto ainda era dia, Davi fez este juramento: “Deus me castigue com todo o rigor, caso eu prove pão ou qualquer outra coisa antes do pôr-do-sol!”

All the people came to urge David to eat bread while it was yet day; but David swore, saying, “God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or anything else, until the sun goes down.”
