I osua i-a învins astfel pe toţi regii din întreaga regiune: din zona muntoasă, din Neghev, din zona deluroasă şi de la poalele munţilor. Nu a lăsat nici un supravieţuitor, nimicind întreaga populaţie, aşa cum poruncise Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Israel.

So Joshua smote all the land, the hill-country, and the South, and the lowland, and the slopes, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as Jehovah, the God of Israel, commanded.
