A tunci Petru şi-a adus aminte cuvântul pe care i-l spusese Isus: „Înainte de cântatul cocoşului, te vei lepăda de Mine de trei ori!“ Şi a ieşit afară şi a plâns cu amar.

Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” He went out and wept bitterly.
