I rod s-a înfuriat foarte tare când a văzut că a fost înşelat de magi şi a trimis să fie ucişi toţi băieţii care erau în Betleem şi în toate împrejurimile lui, de la vârsta de doi ani în jos, potrivit cu perioada pe care o aflase de la magi.

Then Herod, seeing that he had been mocked by the magi, was greatly enraged; and sent and slew all the boys which in Bethlehem, and in all its borders, from two years and under, according to the time which he had accurately inquired from the magi.
