C ând regina din Şeba a auzit despre faima lui Solomon, a venit la Ierusalim ca să-l încerce prin întrebări grele. Era însoţită de o caravană foarte numeroasă, având cu ea cămile încărcate cu mirodenii, foarte mult aur şi pietre preţioase; a venit la Solomon şi i-a vorbit despre tot ce avea pe inimă.

¶ And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with enigmas at Jerusalem, with a very great host and camels that bore spices and gold in abundance and precious stones. And when she was come to Solomon, she spoke with him of all that was in her heart.
