I ehoiada a încheiat un legământ între Domnul, pe de o parte, şi rege şi popor, pe de altă parte, potrivit căruia ei vor fi poporul Domnului. De asemenea, a încheiat un legământ între rege şi popor.

¶ Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people, that they should be the LORD’s people; and likewise between the king and the people.
