Î n timpul domniei lui, Hiel din Betel a rezidit Ierihonul; i-a pus temeliile cu preţul întâiului său născut, Abiram, şi i-a aşezat porţile cu preţul lui Segub, cel mai tânăr dintre fiii săi, potrivit cuvântului rostit de Domnul prin Iosua, fiul lui Nun.

In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho. His first-born son Abiram died as he began to build the city. His youngest son Segub died as he put up its gates. It happened as it was told by the word of the Lord spoken by Joshua the son of Nun.
