A poi au luat trupul lui Asael şi l-au îngropat în mormântul familiei sale din Betleem. Ioab şi oamenii săi au mărşăluit toată noaptea, ajungând la Hebron în zori.

And they lift up Asahel, and bury him in the burying-place of his father, which in Beth-Lehem, and they go all the night -- Joab and his men -- and it is light to them in Hebron.
