D ă-i voie, te rog, slujitorului tău să se întoarcă şi să moară în cetatea sa, unde sunt înmormântaţi tatăl său şi mama sa. Iată însă că aici este slujitorul tău, Chimham. Să-l ia stăpânul meu, regele, cu el şi să se poarte faţă de el cum va crede de cuviinţă.

Let thy slave, I pray thee, turn back again, that I may die in my own city and be buried by the grave of my father and of my mother. But behold thy slave Chimham; let him go over with my lord the king, and do to him what shall seem good unto thee.
