M a il popolo disse a Saul: «Gionatan, che ha compiuto questa grande liberazione in Israele, dovrebbe forse morire? Non sarà mai! Com’è vero che il Signore vive, non cadrà in terra un capello del suo capo; poiché oggi egli ha operato con Dio!» Così il popolo salvò Gionatan, che non fu messo a morte.

But the people said to Saul, “Must Jonathan die, who has saved all these people of Israel? Far from it! As the Lord lives, not one hair of his head will fall to the ground. For he has worked with God this day.” So the people saved Jonathan and he did not die.
