a ffinché la violenza fatta ai settanta figli di Ierubbaal ricevesse il suo castigo e il loro sangue ricadesse sopra Abimelec, loro fratello, che li aveva uccisi, e sopra i Sichemiti che lo avevano aiutato a uccidere i suoi fratelli.

God did this to punish Abimelech and the men of Shechem, because the seventy sons of Jerubbaal were killed by their brother Abimelech. And the men of Shechem gave him the strength to do it.
