D opo averla issata a bordo, utilizzavano dei mezzi di rinforzo, cingendo la nave di sotto; e, temendo di finire incagliati nelle Sirti, calarono l’àncora galleggiante, e si andava così alla deriva.

and when they had hoisted it up, they used helps, under-girding the ship; and, fearing lest they should be cast upon the Syrtis, they lowered the gear, and so were driven.
