« Se ladri o briganti venissero a te di notte, come saresti rovinato! Non ruberebbero forse a loro piacimento? Se dei vendemmiatori venissero da te, non lascerebbero niente da racimolare.

If thieves had come to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen they had had enough? If grape-gatherers had come to thee, would they not have left some gleanings?
