I ntanto vennero alcuni a informare Davide del modo con cui quegli uomini erano stati trattati; e Davide mandò gente a incontrarli, perché quegli uomini provavano grande vergogna. Il re fece dir loro: «Restate a Gerico finché vi sia ricresciuta la barba, poi tornerete».

And go, and declare to David concerning the men, and he sendeth to meet them -- for the men have been greatly ashamed -- and the king saith, `Dwell in Jericho till that your beard is grown, then ye have returned.'
