T he soldiers of that place said to Jonathan and the one who was carrying his battle-clothes, “Come up to us and we will tell you something.” Jonathan said to the one who was carrying his battle-clothes, “Come up after me. For the Lord has given them into the hands of Israel.”

Poi gli uomini della guarnigione si rivolsero a Gionathan e al suo scudiero e dissero: «Salite da noi che abbiamo qualcosa da dirvi». Allora Gionathan disse al suo scudiero: «Sali dietro di me, perché l'Eterno li ha dati nelle mani d'Israele».
