B ut Ruth said, “Do not beg me to leave you or turn away from following you. I will go where you go. I will live where you live. Your people will be my people. And your God will be my God.

– Nu stărui să te părăsesc şi să mă întorc de la tine, i-a răspuns Rut. Unde mergi tu, vreau să merg şi eu, unde locuieşti tu, vreau să locuiesc şi eu; poporul tău va fi şi poporul meu, iar Dumnezeul tău va fi şi Dumnezeul meu.
