J oshua took Makkedah on that day. He destroyed it and its king with the sword. He destroyed all of it and every person in it. No one was left alive. He did the same to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

當 日 ， 約 書 亞 奪 了 瑪 基 大 ， 用 刀 擊 殺 城 中 的 人 和 王 ； 將 其 中 一 切 人 口 盡 行 殺 滅 ， 沒 有 留 下 一 個 。 他 待 瑪 基 大 王 ， 像 從 前 待 耶 利 哥 王 一 樣 。
