J oshua took Makkedah on that day. He destroyed it and its king with the sword. He destroyed all of it and every person in it. No one was left alive. He did the same to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

В същия ден Исус превзе Макида и порази нея и царя й с острото на ножа; изтреби като обречени, тях и колкото души имаше в нея, не остави <никого> да избяга {Еврейски: да оцелее.}; стори на макидския цар както бе сторил на ерихонския цар.
